Reviews from Amazon

A lot of polish, but lacking in gameplay - - This game is pretty to look at, and has a lot of production value, but, it just isn't very good. The combat is simple, the story is "meh", and, to be honest, the missions are a bit on the dull and "corny" side. What I played of it was, moreso than anything, boring.

Ubisoft is generally a reliable developer, and, for the most part, puts out great games. But this one, well, not so much. I didn't have huge expectations after some of the reviews I had read, but, reviews can also be wrong. In this case, and in my opinion, this game was given (actually) better reviews than it deserved.

If you want to play a game of this type, I would suggest "Prince of Persia" instead(again, by Ubisoft).

Great game with no replay value - - this is my moms account, but anyways i have played this game and i really enjoyed it. you'll have a ton of fun running through assassinating people. the reason why i gave this review 4 stars is because there is ABSOLUTLY NO REPLAY VALUE. when you first play this game you'll be amazed by the graphics, the story, and the gameplay...but when you replay this...it just doesn't feel the same. when you replay this its boring. don't worry too much about there being no replay value though. this game is about 15 to 20 hours of gameplay. overall assassin's creed gets these ratings:
STORY: 4.5/5
GRAPHICS: 5/5
GAMEPLAY: 5/5
LENGTH: 3.5/5
REPLAY VALUE: 1/5

If you miss out on this you'll regret buying your gaming console - - The best of the best game. The game that started the trend of open world games other than GTA. Amazing graphics and excellent storyline. I am waiting for the second part.

Great fun - - I had an amazing time finishing this game. The gameplay & story line are unique for the most part & while I wish they did not keep the crazy gene lab into the story (it gives them an excuse for the next version, but it was nothing but a break in the story's continuity), I still loved finishing it.

The gameplay is very commendable & I can see why this was a great thing for Ubisoft - the next version will once again be as profitable as their Prince of Persia series. The game is repetitive after the first 50-60% but of the many friends of mine who have played this game, all have complained about it dragging at places, but none have been able to walk away without finishing it to the end.

Amazing graphics - - The graphics on this game made me drool the first time I played. It's really fun, too, and not as easy as a lot of games nowadays. The only down side is that there is quite a bit of repetition because there are only a few types of missions. You can skip most of the repetition, though, so it's good.
