Reviews from Amazon

I love it! - - I bought this game as a present and it was opened and used on my own machine. We both loved it . After the holiday I will get one of my own.

A good kid's game, but not so good controls - - This game is based on the 'ice age' movie (features voice from original actors too). You play the 'squirrel-like' character, Scrat, and go through many areas of frozen ice, forests, mud swamps, volcanoes and glaciers collecting nuts. It involves running, jumping, climbing walls, swinging on vines, fighting some 'angry creatures', diving through water etc. There are also several mini-games (not a lot of them), but with varying themes and motion-controls.

The game is more for a fun experience than for challenge (for experienced platform gamers). You just enjoy going through those beautiful landscapes collecting nuts and playing the mini games. The sceneries are very pretty and the cut scences are nice (dvd quality on the wii).

- The controls for moving Scrat are not that good. There is not much intuitive motion controls there like in the mini games. You just push buttons for a lot of movements.
- You can only save the games in A,B or C options; you cannot save by your name. It seems such an easy thing to include - kids like personalizing their game.
-I was disappointed that you can't play the mini games alone even after completing the game. You have to go through the game again to do that (too boring). One solution is to 'save' the game at points where the minigames start and load them whenever you want to play a minigame. There are only three slots for saving the game though :(

Overall, it is a game for fun and enjoying with family. I got in in marketplace for less than $20, and I know my son would play it for quiet a while - so, no complaints.

A Little Hard For Kids - - I bought this for my 10 and 4 yr old boys and it really has not held their interest. It uses the nunchuck remote, and is only 1 player. Scrat runs around collecting acorns and things, etc etc. My 4 yr old is able to steer scrat and even able to get him to swim (which is a little hard), but the boys just think it is boring. The mini-games I think we have to unlock. The manual does not tell you a whole lot of info. It is a game where you have to get to the end, and they just aren't into that yet..but if your child IS into that..this is really cute! The graphics are excellent and they have the same voices.

Great kids game - - This game was fun for my kids. It kept them busy for hours when it rained keeping them out of my hair. This is a game made mainly for kids not experience - hard core gamers...

This game is AWESOME! - - We are not heavy gamers but this game was a BLAST for myself and my kids ages 10 & 16 (both are girls). The graphics are great and the game itself was a lot of fun. I'm not sure if a teenage gamer would enjoy it but for us the difficulty was just enough to keep us locked in (we had to look online about 3 times for help). We were sad when we made it to the end!
