air cooler -  - This product seams to work alright. My PS3's emergency fans have not operated since I attached this. Very quiet, can hardly tell if its blowing any air at all. But you have to plug it in separately and turn it on and off yourself. It is not an automatic thing.

There are a few things about this product people need to be aware of before they purchase this item:
Do not worry, this item will work to help keep your Play Station 3 cooler and help eliminate the worry of it overheating. It does snap on VERY easily, and if you accidentally knock it off, just line it up to the vents in the back or front, and it will snap back in place.
We had ours for about a year now, and it worked BEAUTIFULLY!!! But as time went on, and it got older the fans slowly went out. I soon discovered what I didn't know, was that it was operating with only a few fans a month ago, and now, it is down to its last fan that is operational. This inter cooler NEEDS to be turned off EVERY night in order for it to stay operational. (Which is why we had ours for about a year.)It cannot be left on overnight, or it will be running incredibly slow, it will be overheating and don't be surprised if a fan or two or three has burned out. As with all things, it will need to be cleaned (dusted) with a aerosol can of air. It helps the vents to stay clean and clear to operate the way it needs to. But, don't get carried away, cause if you accidentally spray too much, then you run the risk of ruining your air cooler, and your ps3.
What I recommend is, if you need a inter cooler, then go ahead and buy this, but I suggest replacing it every 3-6 months. If it starts to show it is overheating a lot even when you turn it off every night, replace it!!!! This product works like I said, but unfortunately, it has a short life span.
I am looking at the new one that is the Intercooler TS. I hope it works ALOT better than this thing.
WOULD NOT PAY FULL PRICE FOR THIS. - - I bought this for a total price of 18.00 new. When I got it I went to put it on my new 80gb system that came out in June,08. It went on with out a problem and the wires hooked back up but when the optical cable went to be hooked up it didn't wont to plug in. So I took the cooler of and plugged the optical cable in and then put the cooler back on. The cooler seemed to blow out less air than the PS3 fans after a hour or two. Plus the cooler vibrates the PS3 and no vibration is good for any computer based gaming machine. I took it off and put it back in the box. It didn't do anything for me,I just put a little desk top fan that you plug in and it seems to keep the PS3 cooler than the PS3 cooler did. The new PS3 don't have a overheating problem and mine is kept in the open but the cooler any electronic runs the better.
Good product -  - When I had broke my first ps3 decided to buy this this, I have a 40 GB and it did not fit, at first it would always fall if you were to touch the ps3 even once. I am a hispanic so just got some electric tape and tape that sun of a gun on there. It does it's job taking some of that excess air out of the ps3. Probably do not need it but for something that cost $400 I needed that security. Had it for about five months and still running strong. I clean it about once every couple of days to make sure the fans are still running.
No compatible with PS3 40 GB -  - This cooler is not compatible with the PS3 of 40 GB, it does not fit since outputs of HDMI, Component, network and optical are of the left side of Playstation 3 and the cooler prevents these outputs.. Very bad... :s
